Swing are very proud of their new LTF 2 sporty intermediate paraglider, the Astral 6, which they say is the first glider in its category with an aspect ratio of 6.4.

Swing have incorportated their High Arc Technology (HAT) giving strong canopy curvature in tandem with a high aspect ratio, into a serial glider for the first time, and say it will also be used in the Mistral 6 (LTF 1-2) which is under development, to be released February/March 2010. It is lighter in weight than its predecessor and comes in a range of new colours.

Swing’s Michael Hartmann worked hard to give this elongated glider a “precise and easy going handling and a very nice silhouette”. In their comparison flights with the Stratus 7 (LTF 2-3 with a glide of 9.5) thecompany say they found the glides to be astonishing similar (precise figures will be published when all sizes are ready).

The Astral 6 will be available in 4 sizes, covering weights from 55 to 125 kg. The size 24 is already being delivered and sizes 26 and 28 will follow as soon as DHV tests are concluded (expected by the end of October).
