Neo Stringpack 2.0 unveiled

4 September, 2024, by Cross Country

French brand Neo have officially brought out a new version of the Stringpack, their hike-and-fly harness and rucksack system.

The Stringpack is not a reversible harness. Instead, it’s a convertible system that uses one set of shoulder straps for both flight and hiking. Neo claims this saves weight and carrying volume and makes the harness easier to use. “Positioning the bag in flight is also more efficient,” they say.

It’s almost ten years since the first Stringpack came out and this version still adheres to the same concept. The 55-litre rucksack is big enough for lightweight wings and some smaller EN Bs. In the air the volume is reduced by 15 litres to prevent the load from sinking into the lower back. Converting the Stringpack from rucksack to the String 3 harness is via a simple zip solution, say Neo.

The rucksack also features a large front pocket to quickly stow a piece of clothing. Access from the top of the bag provides storage space for the rescue parachute and helmet.

The Stringpack 2.0 is made with very light Dyneema ripstop fabric, which is known for its durability. It weighs just over 1,200g (including karabiners and Propack back protector) and is available in sizes S, M and L. The Neo String Permair protector can also be attached as an option.

“Like all our lightweight products, the Stringpack is very easy to use, so you only have to worry about the essentials: hiking and flying,” say Neo.

The Annecy-based brand is proud of its French heritage, using and supporting local labour and European materials.
