New season, new gliders. From the latest comp machine to the smoothest EN B, we’ve got them covered

Innovation never slows – in fact, in paragliding it only ever seems to speed up and progress in leaps and bounds.
In the March / April issue of Cross Country magazine (issue 146) we look at two important new gliders on the scene, and talk to the designers behind them.
The Boomerang 9 was the glider to beat at the Superfinal in Colombia in January. It was flown to number one and two spot on the podium, and heralded the return of Gin to the competition arena.
We talk to Gin Seok Song about his latest creation, and he explains just what makes this baby tick and why he’s so happy to be back.
Separately, we take a look at another innovative glider – the eagerly-anticipated Delta 2 from Ozone. It’s got better glide, is more fun, and has better launch behaviour, Ozone say – but more interestingly it’s got a shark nose.
What’s a shark nose, and what does it do? Ozone designer Fred Pieri explains the theory behind the shape, and tells us what it means for pilots flying EN C.
Plus elsewhere we have all the news about a whole clutch of new EN B wings – what’s new and what’s coming.
Innovation never dies – out now in the March / April issue of Cross Country magazine.
