The Drifter 2 is Niviuk’s new competition and cross country harness, with a design that fully envelops the pilot to aid performance. It’s the first harness from the company to use their new Orikami protection system.
Design aims were maximum comfort, enabling pilots to fly for hours, and a good balance between stability and manoeuvrability. Niviuk say “significant aerodynamic optimisation work” in virtual wind tunnels enabled them to optimise performance.
The Drifter 2 uses a 5.5cm Orikami protector to reduce the depth of the harness. Orikami is a new honeycomb style protector developed by the company which unlike others is designed to to bounce back and re-form after impact. Niviuk said: “Orikami [is a] revolutionary new protector technology for the paragliding industry. It is the slimmest and most efficient on the market, certified in accordance with the EN and LTF standards.” Read more about Orikami.
Available in small, medium and large sizes, the Drifter 2 can accommodate pilots from 160cm to 195cm heights. The harness weighs 9.3kg to 9.8kg
