Airwave Cobra sports class paraglider certified

11 May, 2009

Airwave’s Cobra, replacement for the Mustang 2, has now been certified EN C and LTF 2 in the S size, along with the M and L.

Airwave summarise the Cobra as a “top performing sports wing with attitude”. They say it has exceptionally high performance for its class and is as close to being a true three-line glider as possible.
Hybrid line configuration (for most of the span there are only three lines, but high up in the centre of the wing short D lines branch off to give greater stability) gives a 15% reduction in total line length from the Mustang 2; A new airfoil design and internal airflow management has allowed an increase in the aspect ratio from 5.7 on the Mustang 2, to 5.95.
The whole extra point of glide achieved has not come at the expense of security, and Airwave are confident that pilots will find the Cobra to be an easy and stress-free wing to fly and as accessible to as wide a range of pilots as its predecessor.
