Petra Slivova, double world champion and triple European champion, has joined team Gin and will fly the Boomerang 8 this season.
After winning the World Championships for the second time in 2007, Petra took some time off from paragliding competitions, which require “a huge personal investment” and are “quite wearing”. She sought and found “something outside paragliding”, becoming a mother to a son, Matjec.
She came back in late 2009 and flew for Niviuk, winning the Paragliding World Cup Superfinal in Turkey on an Icepeak.
About her return to compettion, Petra says: “I’ve always liked to share amazing moments of adventure with international competition pilots. It’s a bit like my second family. Today, I’m going to fly in the spirit of friendship above all else. The titles have become secondary. I want to make myself happy in the air and fly intuitively, without calculating. ”
Being a happy mum and an accomplished pilot is a life that suits her.
“As for my choice to join Gin, it was very simple. I have a long term affinity with Gin Seok, and also with my best enemy in the air at the time and very good friend in life, Louise Crandal.”
