At the end of this month, 27-30 October 2011, the Lookout Mountain Flight Park in Georgia, USA, are hosting a women’s hang gliding festival.
It’s the third time the event has been run, and takes place every second year.
Lookout Mountain Flight Park is just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the festival is for both current and would-be women hang glider pilots (and actually men are welcome to come and enjoy the fun too).
Organisers have strived to create a comfortable and safe, nurturing environment, with fun flying competitions, clinics, reduced price training and evening festivities.
Organisers invite all women to “Come fly the mountain, aerotow, or get your skills up to speed on the training hills. We want to get as many women in the air as possible, and October is a beautiful time of year to do it”.
