Winter trips in Brazil with Pal Takats

Acro world Cup champion Pal Takats will be running paragliding trips in Brazil over winter – as he puts it, “summer flying holidays in the middle of the winter!”

He will be touring the country visiting numerous flying sites, always on the hunt for the best weather conditions, enjoying tropical foods, the strong south-American sun and everything that goes with it.

The two pre-arranged trips are:

17 – 31 January 2011: South Brazilian round trip

Flying in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, and São Paulo, always following the best weather conditions. From coastal soaring through, thermalling, XC and acro flying… Some of the places to visit: Florianópolis (diverse flying sites), Nova Petrópolis, Sapiranga, Gaspar, Pomerode, Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, Atibaia, São Bento do Sapucaí…

28 March – 11 April 2011: Central Brazilian round trip

The trip will include the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Espiritos Santo and flying sites like Atibaia, Santa Rita do Sapucaí, Pico do Gavião (Andradas), Cambuquira (Três Corações), Serra da Moeda (Belo Horizonte), Ipatinga (Vale do Aço), Ibituruna (Governador Valadares), Alfredo Chaves, Castelo…..
Some of these places have already hosted many big XC competitions and are also frequently visited by Brazilian acro pilots as training locations.

Pal can also arrange special guided tours for small groups or individuals on request.

The cost for two weeks is 2480 €, which includes flights from Zurich to São Paulo (650 € reduction to provide your own flights from a different airport), B&B in hotels, vehicle and driver for transport in Brazil, and guiding by Pal and Brazilian acro pioneer and instructor, Fabio Baretto Fava.

You must have a valid paragliding license and insurance to participate, and be able to speak fluently either English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese or Hungarian. You must also have a radio.
