German company UP have a new tandem paraglider, the K22, which they describe as “an effective workhorse, with the handling and performance of a young stallion”.

The company say the K22 is a lot faster than its predecessor, and is fitted with both positive and negative trimmers so its speed can be tailored to conditions.

UP say that it is sensitive to light brake inputs, but still well-behaved if the brakes are used aggressively.

The wing has been completely redesigned and now has swept-back wingtips, which UP say reduce drag and are pleasing to the eye. Nylon battens instead of mylar in the leading edge reduce the packing volume and make it easier to launch.

The company have used robust materials and changed the colours to make it more dirt-resistant.

There will be two sizes: the ML is certified EN B already, and a smaller SM is to follow.
