Tomas Brauner wins Czech Open

1 June, 2009

The Czech Open 2009 was held in Levico Terme, Italy, from 10 – 16 May. Four valid tasks, ranging from 58.5 to 71.8 km, saw Czech Tomas Brauner (Advance) take the top spot, followed by Primos Suza (SL, Mac Para) and Karel Vrbensky (CZ, Mac Para) in third. Petra Slivova (CZ, Mac Para) was top woman, ahead of Renata Kuhnova (CZ, Sky).

Advance’s Valery Chapuis writes, “Some national competitions, like the Swiss for example, are played out at a very high level. The Czech team won the national title at the Worlds in Mexico, and the level at their National Open is always very high. This year was no exception and the best pilots from this country met in Levico Terme, Italy, to contest the Czech Open 2009.

“Despite changeable weather conditions it was possible to fly 4 valid tasks. At the end of the competition our Czech importer Tomas Brauner, who joined our Pro Comp Team just before the Worlds in Mexico, finished in first place, becoming Champion of the Czech Republic, 2009.

“We congratulate Tomas for his victory and wish all pilots all the best for the ongoing season!”
