GIN Wide Open 2016

Swedish pilot Nils Carlsson (Mantra M6) won the 2016 GIN Wide Open, which was held in St Jean de Montclar, southern France, from 18-25 June 2016.

The Sports and Leisure classes were won by Toby Colombé (Carrera), and Ãgusta Sveinsdottir (Rush 4) won the women’s class, ahead of GIN team pilot Petra Slivova.

A rainy start on registration day gave way to good conditions for the rest of the week, and five tasks were scored, ranging in distance from 26km to 52km.

The week was also interspersed with fun photo competitions (the photo above and on the front page are samples of the quality submissions), talks, debriefs, barbecues and parties – all the fun that has come to be expected of the GIN Wide Open.
