

As I gather my breath I roll out the Susi on the launch. I’m using the 18m2 Peter Habeler version which weighs in at 2.8kg thanks to the use of Skytex 27.
The wing still used traditional if thin risers and metal maillons and you’ll also find a normal speed system. Fellow tester Charlie is flying the smaller 16m2 size. The wing is also available in a ‘full fat’ version in more sizes.
The simple structure makes preparing to fly simple. The leading edge has plastic inserts rather than Mylar and these keep the leading edge open on launch.
Of course as soon as I was setup to go the wind started coming over the back. Fearful that we would get stuck on launch I took the first lull and went for it…
