Is there anything the iPhone can’t do? The Wind Meter is the latest gadget aimed at pilots and wind gurus. It takes “instant and accurate” wind measurements using your iPhone or Android device.
It also allows your wind reading to be shared in real time through the web.
Designed to be more affordable than anything else on the market it costs $34.95.
The manufacturers say it is accurate to +/- 0.5% of the reading.
“Calibrated at the University of Florida’s Aerospace Engineering Department, its operating range extends from the smallest puff to hurricane force winds,” the makers say.
