Supair Access 3: Beginners’ harness

26 March, 2024

Supair have released a new version of their Access harness for schools and beginners.

The Access 3 is the “school and progression” harness for beginners as well as “for instructors who want to equip their students with a safe, simple and comfortable harness .” It is available in four sizes for pilots measuring 155cm up to 205cm with easy adjustment of shoulders, back angle and seat depth. It comes in a black, petrol and sand colour design and weighs from 3.16kg to 3.89kg.

Supair say “Safety is at the heart of the Access 3’s development.” It is closed with two automatic buckles that combine the waist band with the leg straps. With bright red colouring the leg straps are easily visible so instructors can check a student is properly secured, even from a distance, and pilots will immediately notice if they are not clipped in. The two-point system creates a stable harness that dampens the movements of the glider so they don’t overwhelm a beginner pilot. Hook-in points are colour coded to make clipping in to the wing easy.

Protection is a choice of foam Bumpair or an Airbag. Both protectors are one-size-only, and zip on to all sizes of the harness. Comfort foam runs up the back. The reserve compartment is built in under the seat with a dedicated reserve container featuring a large red handle and bridles that run to the shoulders.

Designed with schools in mind, the harness size is clearly marked on one shoulder strap and there is a radio pocket on the opposite side.
