Nova’s concertina packing bag is made from waterproof fabric, but breathes thanks to mesh inserts. It has an integral riser bag and straps to keep things compact.
Actually, say Nova, the rods they use in the leading edge of their wings are small and soft and you can’t damage them, so there’s no need to pack a Nova wing in a concertina bag – you might remember this little video showing how you can pack your Mentor 2 (it’s a great excuse to watch it again – much fun!):
Jamming your wing into a stuffsack with your foot is not compulsory. Nova say their new concertina bag is so easy to use and offers great protection while allowing your wing to pack down small, so why would you not give it a go?
The concertina bag is available in two sizes, S/M and L/XL, the size you need depending on the profile depth of your wing (you should be able to find this on the manufacturer’s website). Generally speaking, M size gliders or smaller should fit an S/M size concertina bag, and bigger than that you will need the L/XL size.
