Czech firm El Speedo have released the new Wanaka 2 paragliding harness, which has a semi-solid seat plate that the company say almost ‘wraps itself’ round the pilot, making for a comfortable and secure ride.
It’s named after one of the company’s favourite flying locations, and is based on the successful Chogori pod harness, having a similar strap system, the same reserve placing in the lumbar section of the back pocket and the same buckles and karabiners.
The Wanaka 2 is designed to be flown in an upright or semi-upright positions, with the pilot’s legs stretched out in front. With the flexible seat plate cocooning the pilot, El Speedo say you will feel at one with the harness, which is comfortable and relaxing and means you can concentrate on the thermals.
El Speedo say the Wanaka 2 is solidly built, but lightweight at just 3.2kg in the M size, with plenty of storage space and a smooth-running speed system with large-diameter pulleys. Youcan use the Chogori’s removable instrument pod on the Wanaka 2, and there is a Velcro patch on the shoulder for mounting a lightweight vario such as the Skybean.
The Wanaka 2 is available in four sizes and suitable for all pilots.
