Czech team Opavanet / Tilak won the Outdoor Trophy which took place in Vorarlberg, Austria, on the weekend of 14-15 August 2010.
150 athletes representing mountain running, paragliding, kayaking and mountain biking took part in this, the ninth edition of the relay race.
The professional category saw lots of star athletes, including mountain running world champion Helmut Schiessl and winner of the Zermatt marathon, Gerd Frick (IT).
Local Vorarlberg team KFZ Geiger won the amateur competition ahead of Czech competitors 7days. The ladies’ competition was won by Austrian team www.chooza.com. Hypo Vorarlberg Power Team was crowned best company team.
The many fans who had come to watch really got their money’s worth not only from the competition but also in the supporting programme; an expo area in the finish zone, a wide-ranging children’s programme, a delicious barbecue and a party which is as famous in the outdoor scene as the competition itself. Big band Die dicken Kinder played up a storm for the outdoornight.
The outdoortrophy will be taking place for the tenth time next year.
