PWC France 2014: Felix Rodriguez wins

2 June, 2014

Spain’s Felix Rodriguez Fernandez won the Coeur de Savoie leg of the Paragliding World Cup at the weekend. The competition was held over the week of 25-31 May in France.

Felix beat Alfredo Studer (CH) into a close second place, with Clement Latour (FR) in third.

Britain’s Kirsty Cameron was first woman, with Laurie Genovese (FR) and Tomoko Uno (JP) in second and third.

The competition saw a difficult start weather-wise – the first task scored only 137 points out of 1,000 as the leading pilots only made a maximum distance of 15km on the 46km task.

However, better weather moved in for the second half of the week and four good tasks were flown: 64km, 87.8km, 46.4km and 47.7km.
