Che Golus wins the first comp of the Australian season: the Canungra Cup 2010

Ozone pilot Che Golus (R10) won the 2010 Canungra Cup, which kicked off the Australian 2010-2011 season on 23 – 30 October.

Fellow Australians Andrew Horchner and Craig Donnell were second and third, also flying R10s. In fact, the first nine wings in the overall listings were all made by Ozone, with Gareth Carter in sixth place on hs M3, winning him the serial class prize. Eva Walton-Kelm (NZ, Gin Boomerang GTO) was the first-placed woman (of only 4 in the competition), in 21st place overall.

83 pilots convened in Australia’s Gold Coast hinterland for the competition, where five tasks were scored out of a possible eight with some excellent convergence conditions reported.
