Apco have revealed the F5, their new beginner / intermediate paramotor wing, which has a single mohawk-style winglet in the centre.
The Mohawk is an inflatable fin that acts like a stabiliser on a plane. Apco say that the increased roll stability it gave to the F5 means cruising hands-off is roll-free, and they have been able to fine-tune the gliders’s handling to make it very responsive, dynamic and fun.
Their video above explains how airflow around the single central winglet remains aligned with the airflow at all angles of attack, which they say is not the case with winglets nearer the wing tips
The F5 fits in their paramotor wing range between the Lift EZ-R and the F3. It is suitable for training with school risers fitted, and capable of taking pilots on into long XC flights.
the F5 has Apco’s SRS riser system, and trimmers with a very wide speed range. Apco say the trimmers have a lifetime warranty against wear or slippage. It has a 2D steering brake arrangement and redesigned tip-steering handles that return to their magnets automatically. Other tech includes Apco’s flow-aligned ribs and embedded hook-in points.
