Apco have released a new open harness called the Goal. It’s simple, comfortable, light and durable, aimed at students and weekend pilots.
It weighs 2.7kg in the S/M size, and has a foam back protector with an additional Lexan plate which spreads any impact from sharp objects. The reserve handle is big and bright yellow, and easy to reach. Its position under the main karabiner is designed so the pilot can find it by following the webbing strap straight down from the karabiner.
The Dyneema webbing construction is light and durable, and the harness has an extra durable “skid protection” base so it can cope with bum landings.
A left-side zipped pocket can be accessed in flight (reserve is on the right). The speed bar tucks away in a magnetic attachment, and can be released simply by kicking the bar out.
The Goal is certified for pilot weights up to 120kg. S/M is on sale now, and size M/L will follow.
