Comparison between the new size 40 T2 with the old 57C size, both with automatic ratchet system.

Harken T2 Ratchamatic Block Pulleys – quite a mouthful for such a small thing. These new speedbar pulleys are smaller, lighter (40g) versions of the ratcheting pulleys that Harken brought out some years ago.

The ratchet takes a lot of the effort (up to 90%, depending on how it is set up) out of using your speedbar, say Harken, And when you release your legs, the bar returns to its off position without any friction.

To achieve such power reductions the pulley must be set up with the line wrapped 180° around it. Instructions for the pulleys can be downloaded from here.

The key difference between these new T2 Ratchamatic block pulleys and those of Ronstan or even the standard Harken, is that in those previous models the ratchet system remains engaged at all times and the line only goes back when it loses contact with the pulley.

The new T2 are attached to the harness with included vectran lines and can be fitted to any harness.
The effort needed to keep the speed bar pushed can be reduced up to a 90%, which means that you only need to apply a force of 2kg on the speedbar to keep 20kg of pressure (the rest of the effort is transmited to the anchor point of the pulley itself).

The new T2 pulleys cost 50 Euros per unit plus Vat, plus 10 Euros worldwide shipping (for a pair).

You can order the pulleys from Mario at Perfils
