Skywalk release high-B Chili 6

Skywalk have released the Chili 6. The latest evolution of their high EN-B paraglider, they describe it as “an exceptionally balanced wing for ambitious cross-country pilots seeking the perfect combination of performance, control, and comfort”.

The Chili 6 is a 2.5-liner, a set-up which combines the efficiency of a two-liner with the familiar handling and accessibility of a three-liner. Skywalk say they have adopted a new development approach using advanced simulation technologies along with extensive flight testing.

They say their goal with this glider was not simply chasing performance figures, but to build a wing that would help pilots unlock their own potential in real conditions.

“Modern XC pilots face a different reality today. Weather windows are becoming less predictable, conditions are more dynamic, and both pilots and equipment are being asked to deliver more. In this environment, raw performance alone is no longer enough. What matters is how efficiently that performance can be used throughout an entire XC flight.”

Skywalk say the new aerofoil, optimised load distribution and redesigned internal structure provide excellent stability and reduce pilot workload in turbulent air. Clear, precise feedback helps the pilot read the air mass and thermal efficiently.

It has a new Speed Control (B/C steering) system, and winglets to improve roll stability and direction control. It also has Skywalk’s trademark jet flaps, which are designed to make the wing more forgiving at slow speeds.

Stephan Gruber has already demonstrated the potential of the Chili 6 with a 304km FAI triangle flight in Austria in June.

The Chili 6 is made from Dominico TX-Light cloth, and available in six sizes and three colours.
