BGD launch Kiss 2 lightweight paraglider and parakite
The riser set converts your mountain wing into a parakite
14 August, 2026, by Cross CountryBGD have released the Kiss 2, a lightweight mountain wing that can be converted between a conventional paraglider and a parakite.
Weighing from 1.8kg to 2.6kg, with an aspect ratio of 4.7, the Kiss 2 is aimed at hike-and-fly, mountain flying and pilots looking for a lightweight wing with the option to fly in stronger winds using its parakite mode.
The key feature is BGD’s new convertible PG/PK riser system. In standard PG mode the Kiss 2 flies as a conventional paraglider, with normal brakes and a speed system. Pilots can convert the risers to PK mode in two steps, after which the brakes control the full speed range of the wing without the need for a speed bar.
At hands-up in PK mode the wing flies at the equivalent of full speed bar in PG mode. BGD say the Kiss 2 has deliberately been given a moderate top speed rather than the more radical characteristics of some parakites, making it an accessible introduction to this style of flying.
The lightweight construction also gives the wing easy inflation, while BGD highlights its flare and slow-speed behaviour for landing in small or difficult mountain locations. It comes with a roll-top inner bag designed to fit into a small mountain rucksack.
Two sizes are available initially. The 19m² is EN-A certified from 55-95kg, while the 16m² is EN-A from 50-80kg and EN-B from 80-90kg. Two further sizes – 13 and 22 – are planned. Certification applies in conventional PG mode only, although the load testing applies in both configurations.
