UP’s R&D team grows with the addition of Bernhard Lechner and Stefan Bocks.

Bernhard Lechner and Stefan Bocks join UP

UP have announced two new members will be joining their team: Red Bull X-Alps athlete Stefan ‘Boxi’ Bocks and aeronautical engineer Bernhard Lechner will be starting with them in 2011.

Bernhard will be working closely with Franta Pavlousek to oversee paraglider development and production – co-ordinating prototype production and testing, material management and certification administration.

Stefan, third-placed athlete in the first Red Bull X-Alps competition in 2003, is a plastic engineer with more than ten years’ experience in product development. He will be freelancing as R&D assistant and test pilot, helping the rest of the team particularly with lightweight glider feedback, plus looking at UP’s comp protos before they go into serial production.
