UP has launched their new Pico paraglider.
The wing is actually two wings in one. Sizes XS to L are ‘normal’, though lightweight, LTF 1/EN A wings that could be used for teaching, as a first wing or as an extra wing for days where lightness and extra safety are required.
Sizes XXS and XXXS are the ‘Pico Xtreme’, small ultralight wings purpose-built for para-alpinism.
All Picos are made using normal grade materials, but the design of the wings allows less of it to be used, hence saving weight.
The company says the performance is very good for the class. All standard Pico’s have been certified with a larger than usual weight range to allow for that extra kit you’ll be carrying on para-alpine adventures.
The Pico Xtremes are delivered with thin Ultra Risers; The XS to L Pico’s come with traditional risers but may be ordered with the Ultra Risers as well.
Size XS is certified LTF 1-2, all other standard sizes are LTF 1/EN A. The Xtreme version is not certified.
