When the wind kicked in at the Stubai Cup 2024 in Austria this year, U-Turn’s new speed wing, the Proxi, made its debut in the ground handling field.
Available in five sizes (8-14m) it’s the result of two years of work. U-Turn also hope to bring it out as a tandem speed wing, something designer Ernst Strobl described as an “adrenaline spectacular!”.
Also being updated is their tandem wing – The Passenger 3 is going through final testing and will be out soon.
The third release is U-Turn’s classic mountaineer’s glider, the Everest. The Everest++ is a double-skin hike-and-fly wing that weighs 2kg. Updates include using the latest materials to finesse this “legendary” glider, for example nitinol in place of plastic.
