Hello world! That’s the message from Chrigel Maurer this afternoon as rain sheets it down in the south of France.

The Red Bull X-Alps – it doesn’t get better than this for a rainy afternoon

No head-down marching for him – instead he has spent some time tracing out the word ‘Hello’ in the fields near where he is resting.

Hello back Chrigel – we’re all watching!

Incidentally, this is not a new trick. Paramotor pilots love creating messages in their tracks. XContest 2010 PPG winner Armin Appel (DE), best known for flying massive triangles, also likes to shows off his artistic flair.

Here’s Love:

Love, by Armin Appel

And Batman.

And for his sponsor.

And a message to his sponsor, 'Thank you Dudek'

Mona Lisa, Chrigel?
