New French TV channel for non-motorised air sports

4 December, 2009

Those of you able to receive the French cable channel, Jimmy, may be interested to know that there is a new program entitled ‘Vertigo, le magazine de l’air‘ on Monday evenings.

The first in the series was shown on Monday 30 November (to be repeated Saturday 5 December at 00h50 and again Sunday 6 December at 17h20).

Presented by Gaël Leforestier, each week a celebrity is taken into the air in some non-motorised form of flying or another. The first week, comedian Bruno Salamone was taken on a sailplane and a paraglider at the Coupe Icare, where he also took a 4 am walk up the Dent de Crolles to assist wingsuit flyer Jean-Philippe to launch into the void.

Still to come in the series are hang gliding, hot air ballooning and kite-surfing experiences for French celebrities, amongst others. The show will also enable the viewer to look into the lives of some of the characters of free-flying, whose lives are tightly linked to their passion for air sports and the environment.

The next episode, Monday 7 December, features the Acro Twins and their award-winning film, Lift.
