The 5th Inkafest Mountain Film festival takes place 18 – 22 August 2009 in Huaraz, Peru, at the foot of the beautiful White Mountain chain. With its primary purpose to educate visitors on the importance of ecology and the preservation of the mountains and nature, mountain films will be screened and competitions held to choose the best Peruvian and international cinematographic producers; local and international speakers will regale the crowds, whilst cinematographic production workshops will help you bring on your own film-making skills. There will also be a trade show, bringing together all things mountain (books, DVDs) and a photo exhibition.
It may be hard, but make sure you make time to actually get out and enjoy the White Mountain chain and Huayhuash Mountain Chains, which have massive scope for climbing, trekking, mountain biking, rafting, paragliding or simply being there.
