New wing comes with winglets for the first time to improve stability

One of Niviuk’s flagship releases at the Coupe Icare was the new Peak 7 EN-D. Designed for pilots looking to cover long distances “with maximum efficiency”, they say it’s “more comfortable and less demanding”. It’s a high-performance two-liner with an aspect ratio of 6.9 designed for experienced pilots.

Niviuk say that the Peak 7 has a stable behaviour, even when flown at full speed allowing pilots to “fly fast with confidence”. The wing now comes with winglets for the first time. “The design reduces roll and improves stability in turbulence,” they say. “The wing maintains a cleaner, more efficient flight path, improving glide and overall performance.”

“We improved the maximum speed, the performance, and managed with a new aerofoil to improve the pitch stability,” test pilot and designer Tim Rochas told us at the festival.

Another area that’s seen improvement is the glide ratio, particularly at high speed. “The Peak 7 retains energy more efficiently and delivers superior performance during transitions. In flight, it provides the feedback needed to find the best transition lines and maintain your intended flight path,” say Niviuk.

Brake response is also more direct and immediate. “The Peak 7 turns exactly where the pilot intends, delivering natural and precise handling”.

Niviuk Peak 7 is available in five sizes (20, 21, 23, 24 and 25) up to a maximum weight of 125kg. It’s available in three colour combinations.
