The Instinct XS Acro is a paraglider for pilots to learn freestyle and acrobatics on. It is made by Xandi Meschuh and Icaro, the team behind the Acrobatics book.
Though the Instinct XS Acro is not homologated, it is based on the XS EN B Instinct, though with a slightly bigger surface area. It is also reinforced, to withstand the high forces acro wings are subjected to. Extra long brake travel helps avoid accidental stalling.
Icaro say the acro version is especially agile and dynamic but forgiving of mistakes, so is ideal for learning SAT, Wingover, McTwist and stalls. They say it is frequently lent to SIV clients as a safe glider to perform their first stalls on.
Because it is easy to spin, the Instinct XS Acro can be used to learn Helicopter and tumbling on, for pilot who have progressed to these advanced manoeuvres.
The Instinct XS Acro is suitable for all-up weights of 75 – 110kg, and retails at €2,950 net.
