Icaro Paragliders have a new reversible harness / rucksack for hike-and-fly. Part of their Energy harness range, it is called the Energy Cross.
Weighing just 4.2 – 4.5kg, depending on the size, it has been designed to be comfortable for long walks and long flights.
The Flash system is Icaro’s own rucksack carrying system: length-adjustable to fit people of different heights, it is also lightweight but comfortably padded, and breathable.
The rucksack comes with compression straps, to keep the load tight against your back, and a detachable pre-formed hip belt. Elastic, easy-access outer pockets, walking pole holders and a whistle on the chest strap complete this well-specified product. It has hand straps, but for €7.50 a pair you can buy their optional arm straps, designed to support your arms in a comfortable position whilst hiking.
The EN and LTF-certified harness has a Woody Valley airbag built in, and offers the same sitting geometry as Icaro’s Energy 2 harness.
Icaro’s introductory video below is in German, but the images alone are a good introduction to the product:

The Energy Cross is available in sizes S, M and L at €750 net.
