Slovenian brand Triple Seven have released the fourth incarnation of their high-B Rook, a wing aimed at pilots who want to fly on long cross-country flights with the high passive safety of the B class.
The new wing, that the company says is nothing less than revolutionary, includes winglets in the design that allow “a more prominent arc [that] significantly enhances the flying experience.” Designer Aljaz Valic said in his designer notes, “from the aerofoil to the winglets to the new approach to arc design, it all reignited my innovative mindset. I am exceedingly pleased with the outcome of the new wing.” The risers include “a new BC system that makes active flying as fluid as on two liners.”

The Rook 4 uses a hybrid durable lightweight design with a mix of materials to “reduce weight without sacrificing durability and lifespan”. There is a mix of Myungjin MJTex 32 on the top surface with the leading edge constructed from Porcher Skytex 38. The undersurface uses double coated Porcher Skytex 27. This mix saves weight and brings the benefit of “the feather-like take-off that won’t surprise in any condition” and at the same time “ensures a prolonged lifespan.”
The wing is available in four sizes covering weight ranges from 70kg to 119kg all up and is available in three standard colours.
