Davinci have developed a new performance paraglider for advanced XC or competition pilots. The Popera is a two-line EN D wing that Davinci promise will deliver high performance and speed for skilled pilots used to active piloting.
With an aspect ratio “close to 7.0” – which indicates a sleek and aerodynamic design contributing to enhanced performance, penetration and good glide – and 84 cells the Popera’s spec puts it in the same category as gliders like Ozone’s Zeno 2 (EN D, A/R 6.9, 78 cells).
Features of the Popera include a “double layer system”. “This technology is applied to increase the internal pressure of the glider where there will be another section of layer internally (to reduce) the risk of big collapses. This feature is crucial for stability and safety in flight especially during turbulence and strong conditions,” says the manufacturer.
The glider also has Davinci’s “smart nose system” – sharknose – which is used to enhance the internal pressure of the wing by minimising airflow out of the glider. “This will enhance the internal pressure of the glider hence improve the shape and stability to maximise the performance.”
Davinci say the Popera also has a light acceleration system, making it easier to push bar for full-speed as well as a “smart steering system” so pilots can still manage and control the glider even at high speeds.
“We believe Popera has the potential to outperform other gliders in the current market,” say Davinci.
They add: “It is an exceptionally stable choice for cross-country flying. Pilots can embark on long-distance flights with increased confidence, knowing their glider is designed to handle various conditions effectively. With this new generation D glider, flying cross country is made easier and way safer than before.”

The Popera is available in four sizes covering a weight range from 75kg to 125kg.
