Finnish pilot Hermanni Keinänen has filed a claim with the FAI for a 121.9km tandem ‘straight distance to a declared goal’ European record.
He and passenger Tero Tikkanen, flew a GIN Fuse 41 from Ylivieska to Hoisko in Finland on 11 May 2016, a five-and-a-half hour flight.
Finland might not be the first place to come to mind for long-distance free-flying, but clearly it can be good. The following day, 12 May, Jouni Makkonen flew 216.27km from Isolähde, Finland.
