The El Yelmo International Air Festival (FIA) will be back on July 3 – 6 at the foot of El Yelmo mountain in the Sierra of Segura, Jaen province, Andalusia.

The action packed event will feature a paramotor night show by Paraddax, the “European Paramotor Team” and shows from the SAT team, the Red Bull BASE jump team and a squad of army parachutists, with RACE (Royal Air Club of Spain) acrobatic planes carving the sky at full speed.

There will be a paraglider walk-fly task and the first Paramotor Freestyle Open competition, a qualifying competition for the Turin World Air games of 2009.

The film competition has been running since 1999 and is an important part of El Yelmo. Films will be projected every night on the main stage of the FIA and in the Cinema by day, inside the air-conditioned Fair. Registration is still open for filmmakers who want to submit their works to the contest.

Tandem paraglider flights will be available, as will helicopter rides in the area. There will be games and workshops for children, and astronomical observations from the mountain every night. At night, the celebration will continue with batucadas (Brazilian and Africa rythms), DJ sessions and concerts by well known Spanish bands.

You can see the complete program as well as information on the event and the zone in their website: www.fiaelyelmo.com
