Supair announced on 16 June 2017 that the company has bought Gradient, “to optimise the main strengths of the two businesses and further develop both brands”.
Supair’s announcement reads:
Set up and run for over 20 years by Ondrej Dupal, an outstanding pilot and competitor, passionate about any form of free flight, Gradient is one the finest brands of paragliding wings.
Founded in 1982 by Pierre Bouilloux, in the heart of the Alps, Supair was first the leader of the paragliding harness industry, before getting into the business of glider and parachute design in 2012 under the initiative of manager Laurent Chiabaut.
In the past, Gradient and Supair have worked together on a regular basis, and after a long process, on the 2nd of June, the two managers signed the acts which formalise the purchase of Gradient by Supair.
We have known and appreciated each other for over fifteen years.
Our goal is to work together on the main strengths of our businesses in the coming years, to make them grow and thrive in the long term, thanks to our multiple synergies.
This collaboration, based on the respective values of our two businesses, aims at developing simultaneously our two brands, and paragliding in a more global way. It is above all a human adventure in which we will strive to succeed in time, with the help of our teams!
Thank you for your trust!
