Advance have taken lightweight harness design a step further, and removed the shoulder straps. The result is the 190g Strapless harness.
Designed for mountaineers, and to be used in combination with a rucksack, at first glance the Strapless is little more than a cloth back and some string.
On closer inspection it has leg pads for comfort and a Velcro loop on the back to attach it to the carry strap of your rucksack, to keep the seat in the correct position. An upright sitting position helps ensure you are not tipped back by the weight of your rucksack contents.
The risers attach to the harness via Advance’s ‘Easy Connect Light’ system – lightweight maillons and three colour-coded attachments per side, so it’s simple to do, even with a potentially altitude befuddled brain.
The Strapless is certified up to 110kg, and suitable for pilots from 155-190cm tall. It can be quickly and easily folded down flat into its own lightweight bag, that will take up very little space in your rucksack. There is even a speedkit available as an optional extra.
