Ozone have announced that their barely-there 100g harness, the F*Lite, is now load tested and available to buy in M size.

First seen at the Coupe Icare in September 2014, designer Fred Pieri has spent the intervening months refining the pilot comfort of “the lightest harness in existence”, and is now happy with the M size.  S and L sizes will follow.

Ozone’s website states that:

Fred Pieri and the Ozone R&D Team approached this project not by thinking about how to change existing harness designs, but by focusing on what purpose a harness actually needs to serve. After many prototypes which experimented with harness geometry, Fred and the team re-focused on the materials used.

The F*Lite’s load bearing structure is made from Dyneema thread and webbing, and carbon compression bars. Orienting the Dyneema thread pattern was achieved via an algorithm which determined the stress patterns on the harness. The thread pattern was then specifically designed to cover these areas. The resulting thread pattern may appear somewhat random, but is in fact precisely calculated and sewn.

Along with the F*Lite, Ozone are releasing the new Big LinkLite connectors for the harness-to-riser attachment. The Big LinkLites are sold as a pair, and are not included with the F*Lite.
