Ozone unveil the LM6 lightweight Mantra M6

Ozone LM6

Ozone have unveiled the LM6. It’s the light version of the Mantra M6, certified EN D and designed for serious vol-bivouac adventures.

A sleek beast, it has an aspect ratio of 6.9 like the Mantra M6, and is a three-liner with a sharknose profile.

Ozone say the overall weight has been reduced to a minimum without compromising the strength and safety of the wing. It’s actually 650g heavier than the LM5. The latter will be kept in Ozone’s range for pilots who are looking for the absolute lightest of light kit, but the LM6’s higher number of cells, additional tensioning straps and more complex internal structure mean it has better handling, stability and performance.

The LM6 has the extra performance that was not possible with the LM5, due to the serious weight restrictions demanded by the X-Alps.

All four LM6 sizes are EN-D certified, and it weighs 3.89-4.4kg. Ozone say it is suitable for experienced and competent XC pilots who spend more than 100 hours per year in thermal conditions, and seek a wing that will carry them deep into vol-biv territory.
