The second year of Nova’s paragliding Grand Prix series will see pilots competing in France, Slovenia and North Macedonia for the 2024 season.
This competition series is designed for EN-C wings and below. Pilots can enjoy the thrill of racing in FAI Cat2 competitions, without having to choose between flying a higher-rated glider or arriving into goal when others are already packing away.
This year’s series has three destinations:
Chabre, Laragne, France (8-14 June)
This classic competition location in the southern French Alps has large take-off and landing areas with a mix of terrain. The relatively flat valleys contrast with the surrounding mountains and look amazing – especially when viewed from cloudbase at 3,000m.
Tolmin, Slovenia (20-26 July)
Tolmin has hosted prestigious paragliding competitions in the past and is nestled in Slovenia’s Julian Alps. A premier paragliding destination that offers breathtaking views of the Soča River valley and surrounding peaks. The reliable thermals and gentle winds mean Tolmin is hard to beat when organising a competition.
Krushevo, North Macedonia (11-17 August)
Krushevo offers a mix of mountain and flatland flying, and can deliver endless possibilities for task setting. It is a well-known paragliding destination and has hosted many World Cups as well as FAI European and World Championships.
