If you want to test fly a paraglider you may as well set a record when you’re doing it.

Hugh Miller took the new Niviuk Peak 3 (EN D) out for a test fly on 2 June 2013 and, flying with Mark Watts and Kirsty Cameron, set a new flight-to-goal record for the UK.

The 208km flight took him north to south across England and gave him plenty of time to get to grips with the glider.

“I soon noticed that the Peak 3 likes her climbs strong,” he notes. “As the thermals consolidated, the wing’s responsiveness and climb performance went through the roof.”

As he says, bangin’.
