Icaro Divo Helmet

Introducing the new Divo from Icaro 2000

22 February, 2024

Icaro 2000 have released the Divo: their new, full-face helmet for 2024 designed for paragliding, hang gliding and all sports in which chin protection is important.

Carbon Optic: a grey finish with the appearance of carbon fibre

The word Divo means “star of the show” and Icaro 2000 say this reflects their preference for maximum quality and no frills.

The helmet design was hand-sculpted in wood and plaster before being scanned. The company says: “We prefer to do everything ourselves, here in Italy, for a reason: quality, which means safety and user satisfaction.”

Features include a new visor fastening system ensures the disc hinges do not project more than 5mm from the surface, helping to prevent line snags, plus two intake slots on the chin-piece provide ventilation when the visor is down, which Icaro say optimises comfort.

The helmet is made to be as light as possible without compromising safety. It features a fibreglass outer shell, polystyrene inner shell and complies with the EN 966 standard for air sports.

Two colour options with additional visor colours coming soon.

The Divo weighs 800g without the optional 142g polycarbonate visor and fixing system. Icaro 2000 say a range of visor colours will be available soon to accompany the two helmet colours, which are:

  • Carbon Optic – a grey finish with the appearance of carbon fibre
  • Bianco Pearl – a warm, pearlescent white

The designers have optimised the padding for comfort with the use of “innovative” Coolmax fabric. This fabric absorbs perspiration and allows it to evaporate. The padding can be removed to be washed and also replaced.

Sizes include: small 56-57cm; medium 58-59cm; large 60-61cm; and extra-large 62-63cm.

The Icaro Divo retails at €365 for the basic helmet, with the carbon optic colour scheme costing an extra €30. A transparent visor is a further €60.
