January 2010: It’s mid summer in Australia and some of the world’s top hang glider pilots have convened to fly Mount Beauty, Victoria, in the Bogong Cup 2010 hang gliding competition.

The video above was taken by a very excited Jonny Durand during the event : No task was set that day (!) – the weather wasn’t quite what anyone had anticipated as they filled out their entry forms some months before, but it seems a great time was had by all nonetheless amid much wind and some mid-summer Australian snow.

Only two tasks were completed during the event (93 km and 113 km) with Jonny winning on his Moyes Litespeed RS3.5, Rohan Holtkamp in second (Airborne Rev 13.5) and the Swiss Roberto Michele in third (Wills Wing T2C). Corinna Schwiegershausen (DE, Moyes Litespeed 3.5) was top placed female.
