Skywalk’s Range X-Alps is “an extreme harness for an extreme race” – designed for the Red Bull X-Alps with input from Paul Guschlbauer, and ideal for any hike-and-fly race.
Weighing “substantially less” than 1,000g, Skywalk say the Range X-Alps has passed load tests and is now certified. They add that with the optional foam protector, which raises the weight slightly to 1kg, the harness also passes the test without active airflow.
Peter Müller, who also designed the innovative Range Air, was able to work wonders with strong support from Paul Guschlbauer: despite the extremely low weight, a clever stiffening concept allows for ideal weight distribution and a high seating comfort. This is an important requirement for X-Alps pilots to ensure that they remain fit during one of the toughest races in the world.
Skywalk say the Range X-Alps is optimised for hike-and-fly competitions and is quick and easy to get into, has uncomplicated handling and custom storage space for poles, clothes and electronics.
