AirDesign Volt 5: two-line EN-C

Thursday 15 February, 2024

AirDesign have announced a new version of their two-liner EN-C . When the Volt 4 was announced at the Stubai Cup in February 2022, it was the first EN-C two-liner to be certified after the rule-change that allowed folding lines.

AirDesign say the update brings improved performance at the top of the speed range. The cell count and flat aspect ratio remain much the same, at 57 and 6.45. The most obvious change is in the materials used; AirDesign used Porcher 27 in the Volt 4 but are using Dominico Dokdo 10 on both the top and bottom surfaces of the new wing.  Like its predecessor, the Volt 5 will be available in six sizes, from XXS (20m2 flat area for 60-73kg all up) to L (28m2 for 110-128kg).
