Flare, creators of the Moustache, have announced their new speed wing, the Line. Flare say the Line has evolved from the Moustache, is aimed directly at speed flying enthusiasts and represents a “significant leap forward in this thrilling sport”.

It will be available in six sizes (8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 15m) and incorporate the Flare System for control. The “groundbreaking” glide ratio extends what speed flyers can achieve and also allows for “breathtaking swoops” that even skydivers would envy.
The Line features a “cutting-edge” shark nose leading edge, lowering take-off speed and making launching easier when compared to other speed wings.

But speed is the name of the game: Flare say the 8m Line will fly “beyond 100km/h straight”, and the 13m² can match the speed of a typical 9m speed wing.
Flare hope the new wing will open up new lines and possibilities for speed flyers, but stress that it is for “experienced speed flyers”.
