Orlin Dimov (Bulgaria) came first and Slawomir Matras (Greece) second in the pre Paragliding World Cup round held in Drama from 25-28 June 2008. Both were flying Advance Omega protos.
150 contest pilots and a similar number of ‘fun’ pilots were present at the Aioleia 2008 competition, which saw 3 out of 4 valid tasks (one day was cancelled due to storms after the pilots had been flying for 85 minutes).
The racing days provided strong thermals and high cloud bases and racing was fast, with more than 45% of the pilots in goal.
