Ben Kellett and Georges Millet went on a 320km vol-bivouac adventure in the Karakoram, Pakistan, in July 2024, flying at altitudes up to 6,800m.

“The goal? To explore the Karakoram’s wild, remote beauty and push ourselves to the limits. Our journey began with a stunning campsite in a flat alpine meadow, beside a flowing stream. By day two, we were camping at Rush Lake, overlooking the Hopper Glacier and the iconic Golden Pillars of Spantik. Flying wasn’t without challenges we faced strong thermals, katabatic winds blasting down the glaciers and the effects of high altitude”.

“After an epic start to our vol-biv (fly & camp) adventure in Northern Pakistan, we used the last four days to paraglide south towards Islamabad, saving half the drive back to the airport. Our plan was to fly over Spantik, but an unexpected headwind forced a detour. Instead, we soared around Rakaposhi, camped near Nanga Parbat, we then managed to fly over the Babusar Top Pass, landing along the highway leading to the capital.”
